Schedule Following is an overview of the ALT VI schedule, updated in March 2005. Note that the conference now begins on the morning of the 21st, rather than midday (as had previously been announced). Further minor adjustments may be made up to the time of the conference. Wednesday, 20 July 1400 – 1800 Registration Thursday, 21 July 0800 – 0830 Registration 0830 – 0930 Opening Ceremony 0930 – 1030 Keynote Address: Matthew Dryer 1100 – 1800 Paper presentations Friday, 22 July 0830 – 1700 Paper presentations 1830 – Banquet Saturday, 23 July 0830 – 1700 Paper presentations 1700 – 1830 Party: WALS Sunday, 24 July 0830 - 1730 Paper presentations Monday, 25 July 0830 – 1000 Paper presentations 1030 – 1130 Keynote Address: I Wayan Arka 1130 – 1230 Business Meeting 1400 – 1500 Closing Ceremony 1500 – Excursion Tuesday, 26 July 0830 – Excursion Adjacent Events ALT VI will be preceded and followed by other events of potential interest to ALT participants. The Masyarakat Linguistik Indonesia (Linguistics Society of Indonesia) will hold its triennial meeting in Padang, on 18-21 July, ending around midday on the 21st. Although this conference is traditionally held in Indonesian, the possibility is currently being explored of holding the last few sessions in English. Some information on this meeting is available here (mostly in Indonesian). The 9th annual meeting of the International Symposium on Malay/Indonesian Linguistics (ISMIL) will take place in Maninjau, about a one-and-a-half hour drive from Padang, on 27-29 July.
